Wendell W. “Wendy” Morrison, 72, of Connersville boarded the Navy Victory Ship to Heaven on Thursday, April 2, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.

One of eight children of Joseph and Margaret Mae Bishop Morrison, Wendy was born on October 6, 1947, in Fayette County. He graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1967, and following graduation he proudly served his country by sea in the United States Navy.

Following his honorable discharge from the Navy he returned to his hometown of Connersville.
Wendy was employed for several years at National Metal and for over 29 years as a machinist for Visteon and its predecessors.

With his family, he attended Connersville Baptist Temple and was a past member of several local veterans organizations.

Wendy loved working on cars and enjoyed helping others fix their cars. He also enjoyed watching his grandson, Cooper, play sports.

Besides his wife of 25 years, Sandra Morrison, Wendy is survived by two children, Chad Morrison and Jeremy Morrison, both of Connersville; two step-children he loved as his own, Heather (Trent) Hughett and Nick Kinney, all of Connersville; a grandchild, Cooper Kinney; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; four siblings, Jo Ann (Billy) Carter of North Carolina, Earl Morrison of Florida, Joyce Miller of Georgia, and Mary Sue McFarland of Alabama; two aunts; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Wendy was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Lick Creek Cemetery with Pastor Joe Fierra officiating and Fayette County Veterans Council providing military honors. A celebration of life will be conducted at a later date. The staff of Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home is honored to served the Morrison family.
