William Gerome Asher age 69, of Centerville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at Reid Health despite battling a long illness on September 27, 2018. He was born June 7, 1949, in Knott County, Kentucky to William and Dyance Asher.
Gerome had lived in this area all of his adult life. He attended Centerville High School; and was previously employed at Dana Corporation. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. Gerome enjoyed antique cars and spending time with family especially his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons: Charly (Dawn) Asher of Cambridge City, Indiana, and Chris Asher (Becky Kettler) of Centerville, Indiana; three grandchildren: Logan Asher, Dillon Asher and Alexys Asher; three sisters: Sandy (Bill) Stines of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Lamar (Earl) Miller of Melbourne, Florida, and Donnis Fisher of Cossopilis, Michigan; two brothers: Danny M. Asher of Centerville, Indiana, and Shell Asher of Melbourne, Florida; and several nieces and nEphews.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy O’Neal Asher.
The family would like to thank Bill Bowling, Chris Jennings and Butch Jennings for providing support until his passing. We would also like to express special thanks to dad’s brother, Danny Asher for the dedication and loving care he provided during dad’s time of need.
Family and friends may visit at Community Family Funeral Home on Monday, October 1, 2018, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Deacon Russell Van Winkle officiating.
