William S. “Bill” Jackman, 75, Richmond, Indiana, died Monday, February 22, 2021, at Reid Health after a short illness. Bill was born on September 4, 1945, in Helena, Montana to Roy Lionel and Phyllis (Baker) Jackman.

Bill married Cynthia Cash on June 22, 1985, in Yadkinville, North Carolina.

Known as “The Fruit Man” at the Richmond Meijer, Bill was a  Fiber Optic Engineer. He formerly worked at Corning Cable Systems in Hickory, North Carolina, before moving to Richmond 10-years ago to work at Belden.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church serving in leadership positions ranging from Senior Warden of the Vestry to Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and Altar Guild. Bill touched many lives and his memory will live on.

Bill will be missed by his wife, Cynthia; daughter, Jan of Richmond; son, John of Anderson, Indiana. Also, surviving are his half-brother, John (Sue) Snyder of Great Falls, Montana; sister-in-law, Sandie Jackman of Great Falls, Montana; sister-in-law, Cathy Cash of Statesville, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, John Snyder; Son, Joseph (2019) and Brother, David Jackman (2014_).

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with The Rev. Dr. Barbara Anne Fisher presiding. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
